When I first saw Rusty, I thought it would make an interesting photo. Half of the work was done because someone else had cut a hole into the fence that could fit a camera lens. Also, Rusty was on my route to the metro north, so I thought it would be an easy snap from time to time. I quickly realized that wasn't the case. As the years passed, I found it very difficult to find the right composition for Rusty. The change in seasons made the task a challenging experience, but it also made me want to find the right seasonal setting for Rusty.
I've come to cope with the reality that Rusty isn't there to make an interesting photo; instead, it's there to make me a better photographer. Rusty has stayed the same as the years have passed, but I continue to change and improve as a photographer. I'll continue to make photos of Rusty, and Rusty will continue to make me a better photographer...
The Story of Rusty.
